Frequently asked questions
Short answers about how FakeBet actually works. The long versions live in the Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Is FakeBet free, and is there a catch?
It is free and there is nothing to buy. No deposit, no card, no premium tier, and no way to purchase balance. FakeBet is a simulator: the entire economy is virtual currency that cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for anything.
Is the money real?
No. Every balance, every payout and every prize on FakeBet is virtual currency with no monetary value. That includes the weekly leaderboard prize — it is credited to your in-app ranked balance, not paid out.
How much do I start with?
Two wallets, and a switch that decides which one a bet is funded from. Ranked starts at $1,000 and is the only wallet that feeds the leaderboards, prizes and your public profile. Casual starts at $100,000 and feeds none of them, so nothing you do in casual mode can help or hurt your standing.
Are the odds real?
Yes. Sports odds and results come from live third-party data providers, and prediction-market prices come from public Polymarket order-book data. The fixtures, the prices and the outcomes are real; only the money is not.
How does the $60,000 weekly prize work?
The scoring window is the ISO week, Monday 00:00 UTC to the following Monday, measured by when a bet was placed. It counts settled ranked sports bets that finished won or lost — pending, voided and cashed-out bets do not count, and prediction-market positions do not count. The top ten are paid automatically shortly after the window closes, from $25,000 for first down to $500 for tenth. The prize is virtual currency, credited to your ranked balance.
What happens if I run out of money?
A wallet that has fallen below its starting balance can be topped back up to exactly that starting balance, three times per UTC day per wallet. It is a restart, not a refund: every open position funded by that wallet is forfeited with no stake refund, and those bets are recorded as LOST — they count against your record and your leaderboard profit exactly as a losing bet would. On the ranked wallet the granted amount is also added to your lifetime staked total, so your profit and loss is identical before and after. And a ranked top-up taken inside a prize window disqualifies you from that window's prize.
What happens if a match has no result?
If no final result reaches us within 24 hours of the scheduled start, the bet is voided and your stake is refunded — even if the match was played and your selection would have won or lost it. We settle from what our odds provider publishes, so a match we cannot read a result for is a match we will not move money on. A void returns the stake, counts toward no leaderboard or prize, and is not reopened if a result turns up afterwards.
Can I cash out a bet before it finishes?
Yes, on a pending sports bet, up to five minutes before kick-off and only while a current price exists for every unsettled selection. FakeBet retains a 3% margin on the cash-out value. A parlay containing a leg that has already lost cannot be cashed out at all. A cashed-out bet counts on the all-time leaderboard but not toward the weekly prize.
What are prediction markets on FakeBet?
A second mode where you bet virtual currency on real-world questions priced from public Polymarket order-book data. FakeBet is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Polymarket. Those prices carry no bookmaker margin, which is why the mode has its own ranking — one that pays no prizes. Cash-out is not available there.
Do I need to give you any personal data?
You sign in with Google, which shares your email and display name. We ask for nothing else: no KYC, no address, no payment details. Push notifications stay off until you switch them on. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is FakeBet gambling?
No money is wagered and none can be won, so there is nothing to lose financially. It is intended for users 18 or older all the same, because it simulates gambling mechanics faithfully — and if that is something you struggle with, a simulator is not automatically harmless.
