FakeBet
Bet without the regret.
What is FakeBet?
FakeBet is a sports betting demo platform where every player starts with $10,000 in fake money and the odds come from real-world games — the Premier League, Champions League, NBA, NFL, NHL, and more. Place bets, track wins and losses, and climb the leaderboard. The matches are real. The money is not.
There are no deposits, no withdrawals, no card details, no KYC, and absolutely no real betting. FakeBet is a portfolio project, a sandbox for learning bet structure and risk, and a gambling-aware alternative to platforms that actually take your money.
Out of fake balance? Reset to $10,000 anytime in your account. That's the point.
Why?
Sports betting is a high-stakes activity where most participants lose money over time. The mechanics — odds, parlays, line movement, stake sizing — are easy to learn cheaply on paper or in a demo, and devastatingly expensive to learn live. FakeBet exists so the curious can experience betting flow without the financial blow. For more on responsible betting practice and how FakeBet compares to other free simulators, see our blog.
It is also a portfolio piece — a full-stack Next.js + Supabase + Cloudflare demonstration of building a Stake-style sportsbook UI on real provider data, settlement, leaderboards, daily bonuses, achievements, and live odds via Postgres Realtime. Open about its scope: this is for learning and showcasing, not for taking your money.
